Bethany United Church of Christ, a member of the Ravenswood community since 1895, has a rich and vibrant history. On any given Sunday, the members and friends who join us for worship come from near and far, young and old, and many walks of life. Many families have been a part of this congregation for generations.
About the United Church of Christ
The United Church of Christ is a progressive Protestant denomination, formed in 1957 from the merger of the Evangelical, Reformed and Congregational Churches. The UCC has been at the forefront of issues related to peace and social justice, and was the first denomination to ordain a woman and an openly gay man as pastors. While the names may be similar, the United Church of Christ is not affiliated or connected with the Church of Christ.
