RAISE YOUR VOICES

Music has been an art form connected to the celebration of faith for centuries and Bethany is no exception. Every Sunday, our worship service is elevated and led by world-class musicians. Music Director Yasuko Oura (Northwestern Bienen School of Music) is pianist, organist, and collaborator, bringing in guest musicians from Grammy-award winning Eighth Blackbird, Lyric Opera, and beyond.

Bethany’s pick-up choir also sings monthly. We gather to learn and rehearse a simple arrangement for just one service. We’d love to have your voice in the mix, too!

CHAMBER MUSIC AT BETHANY

In addition to our regular worship music, we are home to the new series Chamber Music @ Bethany. Founded by Yasuko Oura and Grammy-winning flutist Tim Munro, CM@B brings world-class chamber music to Chicago’s north side in an intimate, accessible setting. As music director, Yasuko saw firsthand the enthusiasm that the local community and congregation shared for high quality classical music. Yasuko and Tim also saw the desire of top musicians in Chicago to have an outlet to play chamber music together. These musicians include Grammy-winning artists, members of the Chicago Symphony, and alumni of prestigious schools including the Juilliard School, Oberlin Conservatory of Music, and Curtis Institute of Music. CM@B brings them together to offer exceptional live classical music to all.

Rehearsing at Bethany

Bethany’s sanctuary is also available, schedule permitting, for local musicians to rehearse on our grand piano or organ.
